Fremont First Central Federal Credit Union is a community federally chartered Credit Union. The community charter means business as well as those who live, work, worship or attend school in Dodge or Saunders counties as well as Douglas County west of the Elkhorn River can join the Credit Union. This includes all of Fremont, Valley, and Waterloo.
Fremont First Central Federal Credit Union is a Federally Chartered Credit Union under the laws of the United States. The Credit Union began operations in 1953 serving the employees of George A. Hormel Company and was chartered under the State of Nebraska. In October 1986 the Credit Union changed to a federal charter and changed the name from Fremont Hormel Employees Credit Union to Fremont First Central Federal Credit Union. "Our members are our owners," said Scott Winkelmann, President of Fremont First Central FCU, "and we try to treat them that way."
